I haven’t met Phyllis in person yet, we’re more social media buddies. She messaged me one day after  her daughter noticed my website-decal on the rear window of my Expedition. I was momentarily in East Texas, driving to Beavers Bend State Park in Oklahoma for a kayaking trip. Somewhere along the way, my car was spotted. And from there, we’ve stayed in contact ever since. Phyllis is the author of the Dangerous Loyalty series. Here’s a little more about her.

I’m a wife, mother, and grandmother, living my dream as an author in a small East Texas town.

​I grew up mostly barefooted, surviving many adventures and a troubled home through seven states with a vivid imagination.

My desire is to champion overcomers in my writings so others may be encouraged to rise above the storms of life.

7 THINGS ABOUT ME THAT AREN’T IN MY BIO

1. I use a French Press to make coffee every morning.
2. Throughout 2017, I’ve decided to follow signals from the Universe. In other words, I say “Yes” more often than “No.” Sort of like Jeff McArdle from the new Beyond television series.
3. Not far from my desk, where I do all my writing, a print of The Scream painted by Edvard Munch is hung on my wall.
4. The moment my book The Art of Kissing Death is published, I’ll be getting a long-awaited tattoo on my back (as my reward). This is a goal of mine! As well as finish writing two more books this year.
5. For many years, when I was younger, I wanted to be a “Spy.” I’m not going to lie, it’d still be cool. LOL
6. I signed up for a self-defense class that's taking place next week! Super excited about this. I plan on having serious skills afterward.
7. Currently, I’m reading Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl.
