Who Am I?

I’m married and have two very energetic kids. My TBR list is getting a little long, a few books are: The Boy Who Harnessed The Wind, Beautiful Creatures, Night Circus, and The Longest Ride. I'm in the middle of reading Asylum by Madeleine Roux. 

Years back, I helped build an orphanage in Malawi and became fascinated with other countries. I'd love to travel to remote parts of the world one day. 

I graduated from Texas A&M University with a bachelor's degree in something other than writing. But I love to write! In my spare time, I study German, aber ich bin nicht sehr gut. And in the rest of my spare time, I cook. If you follow my Instagram, you may find pictures of food. LOL.

I'm a strong believer in living life to the fullest. Otherwise, what's the point? And I don't let fear hold me back. I'd rather try and fail, then to have never tried.

Dawn Husted is an author of young-adult fiction, and holds a B.S. degree from Texas A&M University. Prior to becoming an author, Dawn worked in a pizza restaurant, hair salon, staffing agency, and a national non-profit organization. Her book Safe was published in 2013, a post-apocalyptic story. Dawn is a member of the SCBWI (Society of Children’s Books Writers & Illustrators) and has completed editorial work for the travel blog A BACKPACKER’S TALE.
