Pitch Wars. I'm so excited! I'm a mentee hopeful! My MS is a crossover for YA paranormal and YA contemporary.
PIMP MY BIO
I live in a small town where I promised my younger self that I’d leave the moment I had the chance. But then I graduated from college, got married, and low and behold, I’m still here. And don’t tell anyone, but I kind of like it. However, I have huge dreams to see the world the moment my daughter is old enough to travel as my bestie. One of my sisters lives in New York, and I drop her name whenever possible, simply because I like to say that I’m connected to New York in some distant sort of way.
I love camping and kayaking, and am headed to Oklahoma with my other sister in a few weeks to do both. It’s our girly getaway. *I laughed while typing that, it’s going to be hot!* I think I may sleep for a month when I get back.
How long have I been writing? I wish I could I say that I’ve been writing since I was in the womb, but I cannot. I didn’t enjoy books until after college, but once that first book “hit me”, the train never stopped. I read more than I ever thought myself to. And I LOVE it. The first story I wrote was eight years ago, and it was way hard and it was terrible. I feel so bad for my sisters who read story after story from me. But I had to start somewhere, right? *I’m cringing right now thinking of those times.*
Since then, I’ve joined a couple of writing groups. One disbanded because there weren’t enough people showing up, another met during times that I couldn’t come, and then I finally found a great group. They meet locally once a month, and I get excited to be in the same room as other people who enjoy writing as much as I do. It’s exhilarating. And I’ve learned a lot.
I enjoy reading and writing YA, however, I’ve been reading more adult books than ever before. So maybe one day, I may write something different. But for years, including now, my love is solely for YA. Why? It’s an escape into the fun and exciting, unknown times in life when the world is huge and the possibilities are endless.
Why Choose Me as Your Mentee?
I’m detail oriented and meet deadlines ahead of time. I crave to step my writing up to the next notch—many notches. And if you choose me, I WILL NOT LET YOU DOWN! *I’m not shouting, promise. Or maybe I am.*
